The ADI Part 3 Examination is a Test of Instructional Ability
The test is about one - hour duration and is divided into two "phases".
PHASE 1 The examiner will role play a learner with either no, or very little, experience. This part of the test is purely to assess your teaching skills and how well you can adapt your teaching methods to the ability of the pupil being portrayed.

 | PHASE 2 The examiner will role play a pupil with more experience and who is near to test standard or who has just failed a test / or a qualified driver undertaking some driver development. This part of the exam is to test your ability to assess and correct any problems the pupil may have and to give positive advice on how to improve.
