: You are allowed 6 driving faults.

Q: How many attempts am I allowed at this test.

: You are allowed 3 attempts, if you fail 3 times you have to wait 2 years from when you passed part 1. 

 

ADI Part 2 (Eyesight, Show me - Tell me, Driving Ability Test)

Eyesight Test

Before entering the vehicle you will be asked to read a car number plate from a distance of 27.5 metres (number plates issued before 1st September 2001) or 26.5 metres (number plates issued after 1st September 2001 with narrower figures and spacing) in good daylight, with the help of glasses or contact lenses if worn.

Driving Ability Test

This test is of an advanced nature and a very high standard of competence is required. It will last for about one - hour's duration and covers all types of driving:

Urban; rural; dual carriageways; motorways; etc, the candidate will also have to demonstrate expert handling whilst carrying out the emergency stop; turn in the road; left and right hand reverse; reverse parking.

You must demonstrate that you have a thorough knowledge of the principles of good driving and road safety and that you can apply them in practice. You will be assessed on the following:

handling of the controls;
application of the correct road procedure; anticipating the actions of other road users;
sound judgement of distance, timing and speed;
consideration to all other road users;

Please note! - You are only allowed three attempts at the ADI Part 2 test. It is therefore essential that you receive high quality training before you take it.
