The Part 1 Exam consists of two parts :
Test of Theory:
The examination content consists of 100 multiple - choice questions. There is one correct answer from a choice of four and 90 minutes is allowed for you to complete the test. |
 | The questions are banded into four sections and you must score 80% in each band and achieve an overall mark of 85% to gain a pass.

Hazard Perception Test:
The Government has now introduced a hazard perception test as part of the plan to improve road safety. The maximum mark for this test is 75; candidates have to score 57 out of 75 to gain a pass. The test includes a selection of film clips, showing real road scenes and potential hazards. Each candidate is tested on 14 video clips, chosen at random from a selection of two hundred. The sooner you spot the hazard the higher the score.
