| This special driving test at Cardington was first established in February 1976 as an attempt to improve the standards of individual driving instructors. Only qualified driving instructors are allowed to take this stringent driving test. The test is conducted at the DSA training establishment at Cardington in Bedfordshire. |

About the test The driving test is conducted by a permanent staff instructor. The test will last for 90 minutes around various road and traffic conditions where progress at all times is expected. You will also have to carry out a number of manoeuvres accurately.
Only three (3) minor driving faults are allowed, but it has to be remembered that none of the faults can be repeated (there must be no patterns of error).
The result and verbal de-brief is offered by the assessor at the end of the test. All candidates who achieve a "Grade A" pass will be issued with a certificate.
ADI's who are successful in this examination gain recognition from the DSA as amongst the most professional in the industry. This qualification is ideal for those ADIs who are considering going into Part 2 training and / or Fleet training.
