The most commonly asked questions;

Q: How long does it take to qualify?
A: This all depends on your commitement and the waiting times between DSA test appointments but it can be done in about six to nine months.

Q: Who will be my trainer because I don't want different trainers to train me.
A: No need to worry, at Oakwell Peter does all this type of training personally, and he does it all on a 1:1 basis. From start to finish you have the Oakwell guarantee that you will have Peter throughout all your Part 1, 2 and 3 training.

Q:How qualified is the trainer and how do you know who is good and who isn't - it is all so confusing.
A: You will have to use your own judgement on this, however you can take a few steps for your own peace of mind, just ask them:

1) Are they on the DSA ORDIT register, if they are ask to see the DSA ORDIT certificate.

2) Is the trainer DSA ORDIT registered or is it the driving school.

3) What checktest grade is the trainer (6 being the highest).

4) What qualifications does he /she have and can you see them.

ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE DSA ORDIT SYMBOL.

There are now more cars on the road and thats a fact, there are now more people wanting to learn to drive. Driving regulations are becoming more complicated, driving tests are more complex and difficult to pass.

There is always a demand for qualified driving instructors not only for learners, but instructors can diversify into fleet training, instructor training, ADI training the list is endless and the rewards are satisfying.

In early 2007 the DSA introduced a criminal records bureau (CRB) check for all new applicants, this must be satisfactory completed before DSA will accept your registration. However, if you are confident that the check will produce a satisfactory result then training can commence before this check is completed.

HOW MUCH WORK IS THERE FOR A DRIVING INSTRUCTOR.

There are about 1,600,000 Driving Tests conducted each year, this figure alone highlights the need for good quality driving instructors.

Over the years Driving Tests have become more and more difficult to pass which in turn creates more and more work for a driving instructor. Gone are the days when you can pass your test in 10 lessons or less.

The profession is financially rewarding and satisfying to the right people. If you feel that this is for you then please give Oakwell a call and ask to speak to Peter.

Peter will arrange a no-obligation meeting where all your questions and concerns will be answered.

At a no-obligation meeting - you have nothing to lose.
